Still painting orcs and arms, got 18 finished now and did some extra night goblins.
pictures coming up soon, in the meantime here are some spear chukka's
Still painting orcs with 4 arms. I got 12 finished now, although it's not going very fast. Below are 5 (I got 6 actually) night goblins mounted on wolves painted years ago.
I am currently painting some 40 orc warriors in batches of 6. I figured it would be a good idea to make the arms detachable by fixing a magnet in each arm. These pictures show the prototype.
It can be equiped with 1 handweapon, with or without shield, spear or 2 hand weapons. Although I have to paint twice as many arms, I don't have to paint double (or tripple) the amount of orcs. It also makes aligning them up easier as you can move the arms.
I made movement trays from plastic card that I painted with magnetic paint (paint with iron particles). I glued a magnet on the base of each minature. As you can see its enough to be able to hold plastic minatures upside down (Don't shake!). Metal minatures are to heavy to hold upside down but will stay in place during transport and gaming.
Finished my new magnetic movement trays. I paint my goblins clean and cartoony, the new trays match that. These are 60 night goblin archers I had already painted.
I have been collecting and painting a warhammer night goblin army since 4th edition. Because of several hiatuses of a couple of years progress has been slow. Recently I've picked up the painting again, this time with the goal to expand the army to some good size for gaming and get a proper army feel. To keep myself motivated and show the progress I've started this blog.
